Custom designed 316 stainless steel 8″ x 12″ BW300SS
Fabricated Basket Strainers complete with bolted flange cover,
differential pressure gauge and support legs were recently
fabricated by Sure Flow Equipment Inc. for Newfoundland and
Labrador Hydro. These basket strainers were destined for the Bay
d’Espoir Hydroelectric Generating Facility, the largest
hydroelectric station on the island with a rated output of 604MW.
This was the first major hydroelectric project built in
Newfoundland and Labrador and was one of Joey Smallwood’s first
major successful endeavours to attract more business to the “have
not” province by providing a source of low cost electricity. Known
