If someone told you they worked for a company that made “industrial valves and strainers” what probably wouldn’t immediately come to mind is ‘high tech.’
Even with the image of our products being used in manufacturing processes, Sure Flow remains a vital part of a variety of innovative industries. In fact, in the competitive world we live in today there is no such thing as an industry that doesn’t innovate.
To have been in business a quarter century Sure Flow ensures that all our systems evolve, from our internal computer systems to our engineering computer aided design and quality control and testing.
One of the industries Sure Flow has continued to evolve with is the petroleum and liquid hydrocarbons business. Innovations like horizontal drilling have allowed previously inaccessible deposits to be reached economically. Sure Flow has also worked with partners in off-shore drilling. The industry has used several different techniques for off-shore drilling from fixed platforms to floating rigs.
Sure Flow has supplied a variety of these installations. Off the coast of Newfoundland, Canada companies are employing concrete gravity supported wellhead platforms. These fixed platforms can help improve drilling efficiency and reduce downtime caused by the weather, which in an offshore environment can be a source of interruption. This can help reduce operating costs. In an environment like Canada’s east coast, icebergs can pose a hazard at certain times of the year. Every business involved in these endeavors must be at the top of their game.
Often these drilling platforms integrate with a floating production storage and offloading (FPSO) unit. This floating vessel receives the oil produced by the drilling rig, and it can process and store it until it can be offloaded on to a tanker.

The amount of technology involved with all these moving pieces is quite mind boggling. But Sure Flow is up to the challenge. From our sales to our engineering team that scopes out the specific project.
Deep water oil producers have been able to reduce their costs significantly, particularly since 2014 when the price of crude dropped. Some producers have been able to reduce costs and improve efficiency where they can reach a break-even price less than half what it was 5 years ago. This is a tremendous accomplishment in a technologically challenging environment.
Sure Flow Equipment is proud of our work with these industry innovators. Any time our talented engineering team is called upon for ideas, we are thrilled to step up.
Onshore, offshore, fixed, floating … it doesn’t matter the application, or the industry, Sure Flow is at the top of its game and up for the challenge.
