Alfred Sydney Wordsworth, my great grandfather, was an
import merchant. He also owned many fine establishments or, in
today’s terms — hotels/motels. My father’s summer job was to
polish the brass handrails in all of them. It was a task my dad
hated because by the time he had finished the handrails of the last
hotel, those in the first ones were already tarnished again. It was
never ending! Now Alfred: I can only briefly remember him. I have
memories of him smoking a pipe and he was always well dressed,
usually in a suit. I do believe that Alfred would be proud of Sure
