Sure Flow is always a busy place, but this past year has been a particularly exciting time for our quality department as we renewed a series of our quality certifications.
The concept of certification is really a winning one for consumers as it ensures that companies that are audited and maintain their certification consistently manufacture quality products. Those of us who have been ‘consumers’ for a while have witnessed the progressive evolution of companies that embrace this quality mindset, and you can see it in the warranties that are offered on so many products with many moving parts, like automobiles. Sometimes it seems like you just don’t see as many cars stuck at the side of the road these days and much of that is a tribute to this pursuit of quality.
Sure Flow has lead the charge in this department and began pursuing certifications almost two decades ago. What goes with getting that initial quality designation is that you need to maintain it, which requires constant upgrading. Many of these just seemed to all transpire to be done all at once.
Our first big update was our ISO 9001:2015 certification. We have been ISO 9001 certified since 2002.
The “International Organization for Standardization” is a network of the national standards institutes of 147 countries which works to establish ‘international standardization’.
When the large majority of products or services in a particular business or industry sector conform to International Standards, a state of industry-wide standardization can be said to exist. This is achieved through consensus agreements between national delegations representing all the economic stakeholders concerned – suppliers, users, government regulators and other interest groups, such as consumers. The consistency of specifications of materials and manufacture, testing and analysis has allowed Sure Flow to provide industrial valves and strainers to customers all over the world. With our ISO certification they can rest assured we produce quality products and stand behind them.
Our ISO 9001:2015 Certification of Registration is now valid to 2020.
Sure Flow also renewed our TSSA Certifications. The Technical Standards & Safety Authority regulates safety in a variety of industrial sectors including boilers and pressure vessels and petroleum producers.
Our TSSA Certificate of Authorization QA 451 is for the manufacture of pressure vessels in accordance with ASME Boiler and Pressure Vessel Code, Section VIII, Division 1 and CSA Standard B51, Boiler, Pressure Vessel and Pressure Piping Code.
TSSA Certificate of Authorization QA 4163 covers Sure Flow for the repair and alteration of boilers, pressure vessels, piping and category A, B, E & H type fittings.
We also renewed our TSSA (Technical Standards & Safety Authority) Certificate of Authorization QA 4305 for the fabrication of welded and non-welded category E and H type fittings. In keeping with this year’s exciting 7 game baseball World Series, we feel like we ‘hit for the cycle’ with our TSSA certification this year.
We are also thrilled to have renewed our ASME Certificate of Authorization.
Sure Flow is National Board Certified and authorized to apply the “NB” Mark.
